Chloe Harlep

Hello, my name is Chloe Hartlep and I am a junior that excels in all advanced or AP classes in the Biomedical Sciences Program at Frederick Douglass High School in Lexington, KY. I am kind, persistent, passionate, goal-oriented, and will outwork anyone in the room. My goal is to go to a highly selective academic college/university and become a pediatric intensivist. Being neurodivergent, I like the rigidity the medical field provides while also allowing creativity and innovation through research. On weekends when I don’t have tournaments, I volunteer at my church in the nursery. In addition to playing softball, I also swim competitively, and play in the highest level orchestra at my school. I am a part of many clubs including Beta Club, National Honor Society, and Infusion (similar to Best Buddies). I am the founder and president of the FDHS Bandana Project which is a mental health initiative that uses lime green bandanas to help destigmatize mental health issues. While these activities take lots of time, I am fully committed to each one of them and do not let them hurt my success. In fact, all of these activities help me grow as a student athlete and as a contributing member of society.
